Connect your assistant

Add the server address https://genealogy.junowoz.com/mcp as a custom connector or MCP server in ChatGPT, Claude or Codex. Sign in with your email when the assistant asks. The README on GitHub has the steps for each app.

Common questions

How do I upload a family tree?

Ask your assistant to create an upload link, or sign in at /login and open your account. Upload a GEDCOM file (.ged or .gedcom), or a .zip with one .ged file. The limit is 50 MB. The getting-started skill in the plugin explains how to export a GEDCOM file from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Geni, RootsMagic, Gramps, Legacy, MacFamilyTree, Family Tree Maker and WikiTree.

Can I use FamilySearch?

Not yet. FamilySearch does not offer a GEDCOM download of its shared Family Tree. You can use a GEDCOM file from FamilySearch-certified software that you already have. A live FamilySearch connection is planned and depends on FamilySearch’s written permission.

My file failed to import.

Check that the file starts with 0 HEAD, is under 50 MB and has fewer than 300,000 people. Export again with UTF-8 encoding. If it still fails, write to inbox@junowoz.com with the error text. Do not attach the file.

How do I delete my data?

Sign in and open your account. Delete a single tree, or choose Delete account and type your email address to confirm. Deleting the account removes your trees, files, projects and assistant connections. Read the privacy policy for the details.

How do I export my data?

In your account, export your workspace data as JSON and download each original GEDCOM file.

How do I disconnect ChatGPT or Claude?

Sign in, open your account and choose Disconnect next to the app under Connected apps. Access stops at once. You can also remove the connector in ChatGPT or Claude.

Someone shared an invite link with me.

Open the link and sign in with your email. If it says that the link is invalid, it has expired or reached its use limit. Ask the owner for a new one.

The answers look wrong.

AI answers and tree data are leads, not proof. Ask the assistant for the source behind each claim, and check it. Report a tool problem on GitHub Issues.
